Ricky was born in San Bernardino County, California to Hispanic parents Agustin Dominguez and Fabiola Dominguez. He began acting at the age of 14 when he appeared in a McDonalds commercial. Since then, he has appeared in 3 other American television commercials, giving rise to his career as an actor. His television debut came in 2003 when he co-starred in Malcolm in the middle. In 2005, he began to play the role of Miguel, the oldest band member in kidzbop webisode Kidzbop Comic Adventures, continuing in the role for 1 season. All though often credited as Richard Dominguez, Ricky’s stage name is Ricky Dominguez.
